The financial department

The main task of the financial department is the management of the financial affairs in relation to payment of tuition fees and the students’ monthly financial allocations fixed by their sponsors. Every student must provide the financial department with the details of their bank account and contact address.

Financial services:

  • Tuition fees – monthly allocations

  • Book and clothing allowance

  • Health insurance in countries where medical insurance schemes apply

  • Graduation project allowance

  • Shipping allowance on graduation

In addition to the aforementioned allowances, each student will be entitled to:

  1. Tuition fees.

  2. Fees for visas and registration with the police, for the student and his family.

  3. Hotel accommodation charges for no more than one week on arrival in the country of study for the first time.

  4. Return tickets in economy class, for the student and his family (wife and three children), from the Sultanate to the country of study. However, the student may obtain cash compensation for the tickets.

  5. A student from the Governorate of Dhofar, Musandam and Masirah Island shall be given a return ticket from his domicile to Muscat.

  6. A postgraduate scholar shall be entitled to a family allowance equal to 25% of the monthly allowance, if he is accompanied by his wife and children.

  7. The Ministry shall bear the cost of health insurance for the scholar and his family in countries applying a health insurance scheme.

  8. Shipping cost of the student’s personal effects on graduation.

 

The total allowance for language and stage one students is £1015, inclusive. Equipment allowance is paid to the scientific study students once every two years.

The allowance given by the Ministry is paid on the 20th of each month, and students should arrange for this, bearing in mind that payment of this allowance in advance occurs only in very special cases and by approval of relevant persons.

The processing of any transaction or application takes between 2 and 3 working days.

Students must book university accommodation early, or approach the institute or university to help them find suitable accommodation.

Students are requested not to go real estate agents, as they charge exaggerated prices.
